Orthognathic Surgery

Some of our patients may have significant skeletal and/or soft tissue discrepancies that could lead to bite problems, limited jaw function, pain or facial imbalance. Certain types of these problems cannot be overcome by conservative orthodontic treatment alone. Under these circumstances, Dr. Morrow works together, as a team, with an oral surgeon (a dental specialist in surgical treatment of the jaws) to align the teeth, correct the jaw discrepancy, improve function and improve facial balance.

Orthognathic surgery may be unnecessary if orthodontic treatment can correct the problem. With the latest advances in orthodontics, this is sometimes the case. We will determine if orthognathic surgery is the correct treatment option for you.
